CODESYS PROFINET Device (for EL6631-0010) SL allows end users to integrate a CODESYS compatible controller with EtherCAT fieldbus support into an existing PROFINET network. License activation is required for each device. This is done from within the CODESYS Development System.

Product description

The EL6631-0010 gateway terminal from Beckhoff allows an EtherCAT enabled controller to register itself as a PROFINET device in a PROFINET network. For CODESYS compatible controllers to use this functionality, they need a gateway for the inputs and outputs of the PROFINET device with the EL6631-0010 terminal. CODESYS PROFINET Device (for EL6631-0010) SL is a product that integrates these functionalities seamlessly into the existing controller. In project engineering, the terminal is integrated as an EtherCAT object in the device tree of an IEC 61131-3 project. Then the terminal is configured directly from within the development environment. End users of CODESYS compatible controllers with EtherCAT are therefore provided with many options for configuring their device as a PROFINET controller and integrating it into existing PROFINET network architectures. With the gateway functionality of the EL6631-0010 terminal module, no additional Ethernet ports are required on the device. A special device description for the EL6631-0010 gateway terminal allows integration into an appropriate EtherCAT fieldbus coupler (example: EK1100) of the CODESYS project according to the physical configuration
