Metronix EtherCAT Servo Drive: ARS 2000 Series (ARS 2100)
The ARS 2000 servo drive with the EtherCAT technology module supports the CoE protocol (CANopen over EtherCAT) with the aid of FPGA ESC20. The CANopen communication objects are tunneled via the EtherCAT telegram. This means that the individual objects that are addressed via the CoE protocol in the ARS 2000 servo drive are transferred internally to the existing CANopen implementation where they are processed.

ARS 2000: Servo drive for control cabinet:
The servo drives ARS 2000 are digital servo drives suitable for a wide range of applications.
In addition to pure torque or speed control, the integrated positioning controller can easily provide smooth and time-optimised position control.
The evaluation of a variety of feedback systems such as resolvers, HIPERFACE and EnDat as well as digital and analogue incremental encoders form the basis for support of rotary synchronous motors, linear and torque motors.
The integrated CANopen interface and the optional PROFIBUS, sercos II and EtherCAT field-bus connectivity form the basis for integration into diverse automation systems.
Integrated in to the controllers is the safety function STO according to EN ISO 13849-1, Performance Level d.
In automation systems with up to four axes the optional technology module MC 2000 offers motion control functionality that is integrated directly into the servo controller, an alternative to external multi-axis controllers.
Likewise, the MC 2000 is also suitable as a purely functional controller.
All ARS 2000 typically feature a built-in EMC filter, integrated brake chopper and brake resistor.
The servo controller ARS 2000 product family therefore meet, without external accessories, the current CE and EN standards and are immediately operational.
The ARS 2100 is a fully digital servo controller for single-phase mains supply. Due to the integrated Power Factor Control (PFC) the device already fulfills the standards according to EN 61000-3-2 (limitation of mains current harmonics) without additional measures. Apart from pure torque or speed control, the integrated positioning unit allows easy jerk-free and time-optimized positioning. The control on an external angle encoder as well as various types of synchronization are possible (e.g. electrical gear etc.).
