Numerik Jena: Standard Incremental Rotary Encoder (RIK 4 Series)
Our exposed rotary encoders consist of a scanning head and a grating disk. These measuring systems are basically characterized by the following main features:
Non-contact optical scanning of the ratchet disk by the measuring head, thereby no mechanical retroactive effect on the shaft
No mechanical coupling between rotary axis and measuring system, thereby no transmission errors
Low space requirement
High resolution up to 0.135”
Large mounting tolerances
Integrated compensation of the measurement signals’ offset- and amplitude fluctuations
Typical fields of application:
Production and inspection machines for the semiconductor industry
Rotary and Pivot axes
Pick-and-Place positioning systems
Controlled drives
Direct drives (torque motors)
Handling technology
Positioning and measuring systems for medical engineering
Robots
RIK 4 Features:
The LIK Series was especially designed for applications with limited installation space. The very flat and light design of the encoder enables the user a wide range of applications.
With EPIFLEX sensor module (1-field scanning)
Individually configurable
1 Vpp or RS 422 output signal
Up to 100-times signal interpolation
Measuring steps up to 0.135 arc seconds
Rotational speed up to 22,200 rpm (with 1 Vpp)
Minimal mass moment of inertia of the aluminum grating disk, therefore applicable for high angular accelerations
Up to 24,000 increments on a grating disk (RS 192)
Special vacuum version available
Scale Types:
Aluminum Grating Disks
Suitable to our rotary encoders we offer aluminum grating disks in different sizes and numbers of lines. Our team likes to support you in the conception and planning of your application. We offer the grating disks assembly on your customized hub and the measurement as a service, for example. If required we also take over the manufacturing of the hub.
Glass Grating Disks
For applications with special environmental conditions (e.g. magnetic fields, heat sources, vacuum, etc.) we also offer grating disks made of glass.
