Phytron: Vacuum Stepper Motors (VSS Series)

Precision that moves.

Stepper motors are synchronous motors. The rotor follows an electrically charged magnetic field. The stepper motor uses a closed loop control system as opposed to the servomotor. This means that position and the number of revolutions are known even without sensor technology by principle. In addition, stepper motors are highly reliable and long-lasting due to their precision and economical construction, even in extreme environments.

Phytron’s VSS stepper motors are the result of more than 30 years of experience in space technology. The specially designed two phase, hybrid stepper motors can be used in vacuum environments up to 10 -11 hPa. They are optimal for extraordinary environments such as deep and high temperatures or extreme radiation intensity.
